a5c7b9f00b Set in a near future, technology-reliant society is creating killing machines. Against this backdrop an elite Marine unit is helicoptered in to a remote, off-the-grid island training facility, to test the capabilities of the latest prototypes. They set up positions and make short work of the AI targets in the killing field. However, overnight their sentry goes missing, and when they find the corpse the next day they find themselves in the killing field and the tables have turned. The Marines fight to survive on an island that is overrun by an enemy intelligence far beyond their predecessors, which learns from their every move.

First off, I went into this eyes wide openI'd read some reviews so I wasn't expecting Interstellar or Aliens, however I was really impressed and clearly some of the moaners have no love of films. I was born in the 70s, watched hokey sci fi in the 80s and this gives me a bit of latitude when it comes to rating films. The script and dialogue have gotten poor reviews in particular and let me tell you that this is easily on a par with Aliens or the first Terminator so let's not get too bogged down. The plot is simple enough and it's not rocket science to be ahead of the game in relation to where it's heading but it's the journey that we're here for. The special effects are excellent, think Edge of Tomorrow excellent, the location is also excellent and explained in film brilliantly. The acting is solid, each player knows their part and I was genuinely rooting for characters. The story line (as has been said) is predictable but who cares, it was executed spectacularly and I jumped several times and was right there with them. I really enjoyed this film and will be recommending it to friends I know who enjoy a well made romp. Those reviews that were snotty and pretentious? Ignore them. You know who you are and what films you were brought up watching. Get yourself a drink, some munchies, sit back and enjoy the ride!
For a low budget movie with almost no marketing Kill Command is a cool film. The special effects are top notch, the acting is good, the story is engaging, the pace is keeping you on your tows. It's not the most original story, that's true, but up until the very end I didn't cringe at all.<br/><br/>Think Aliens with robots and you get a pretty clear picture of the scope of the script. Notgood, but not bad either. Some things were a bit off putting. I mean, the movie actually has a Chekhov's gun, only his name is not Chekhov and he's black! The military tactics used are bad, but not laughable. Also the ending… I am conflicted about it. On one hand it could be Matrix's AI in the human world sequel that we've dreamed about ever since Smith uploaded himself into a person. On the other hand it could be a high tech classic villain second wind which dooms the story to obscurity.<br/><br/>Bottom line: There are no high level questions being asked about Artificial Intelligence or human nature here, but it is a well done action sci-fi movie. I am curious if a sequel will be made, considering the efforts in the CGI and the successful establishment of the universe.
